Where did Millerton get its name?
[Answer: Marin pioneer James Miller, who arrived with his family in a covered wagon well before the Gold Rush, bought land on Tomales Bay including the small point and planned a city to be named Menlo Park. Millerton was a stop on the North Pacific Coast Railroad and the site of the first oyster farm in West Marin, in 1875.]
