Noted botanist Willis L. Jepson found a flower "“the color of egg yolk"” in the vicinity of Russell’s Cream Factory, Point Reyes, in 1900.

In the Fall of 2009 West Marin Commons Tending the Wild Collaborative presented a series of talks offered to stimulate dialogue across the nature-culture spectrum. The Fall talks are listed below.

What is the value of community?  How do we measure the wealth of community? What are the signs of community vitality?

Wealth in America typically is assessed entirely in terms of money and things that can be readily valued in terms of money, such as stock certificates and real estate.

West Marin Commons ethnobiology project, the Tending the Wild Collaborative, grew out of a study group that began meeting in the fall of 2007.
