COMMONS CONNECT WELCOME

Welcome to the new West Marin Commons website serving West Marin from Stinson to Tomales!

Commons Connect, a program of West Marin Commons, is a central online gathering place for West Marin.

West Marin Commons is a local community project fiscally sponsored by On the Commons, a 501c3 non-profit organization. Donations to West Marin Commons are tax-deductible. 

Commons Connect provides the following services to the West Marin Community:

• a community calendar open to all local organizations and community members to help coordinate schedules and for all for local events
• a resource guide of local organizations, shops, and services
• forums including Share, Marketplace, Soapbox, Over-the-Hill Gang (Ride and Errand Share), and more
• links to local media
• Local Alerts: time-sensitive notifications of importance to the community 
• links to local blogs and local weather
• and more

Commons Connect is a virtual local gathering place focused on West Marin County. Many resources on Commons Connect are available to the visiting public. 

The Commons Connect Community Calendar is provided as a tool for planning and a resource to all for LOCAL events.

The Commons Connect Forums include a number of online networks for local exchanges. (These Forums have been hosted by West Marin Commons using Google groups since 2007. In 2012 we are creating this integrated system using Drupal’s forum template.)

We encourage West Marin community members to join as Forum Members and, if you have local events to post, as Calendar Administrators. When signing up, please use your actual first and last names or the name you are commonly known by and indicate how you are part of the West Marin community.

Please familiarize yourself with all the guidelines before posting and sign the Terms of Use.

If you are new to the website, please allow time for your first listing to be approved. Once approved subsequent listings will post immediately.

Posts to these forums without a verifiable local reference will be removed (local reference meaning a local contact number or location of event, business, sale etc.)



Commons Connect is provided free of charge to the community at large and to the local West Marin community.  In order to pay for expenses, we ask users and members to donate at a level you can afford. We will continue working with users to troubleshoot and improve the forums and all aspects of the site. So please work with us.
