9th Annual Dance Palace Duck Derby

Date:
Saturday, October 11, 2014 - 11:00am to 1:00pm
Location:
Event Description:

Join us for a day on Papermill Creek as we celebrate the 9th running of the Ducks. In case you have never participated in this event, The Duck Derby is a race in which yellow rubber ducks are released down Papermill Creek in a push for the finish line. We have constructed a free-floating racecourse in which we can clearly monitor the ducks’ progress and easily pluck them from the water after they cross the finish line. A number of initial heats will be run, with the first 25 ducks from each heat competing against each other in a final race to determine the first, second, and third prize winners. First prize is $500! The course’s finish line at White House Pool is just upstream from the footbridge, with plenty of room for parking and viewing. There will be live music with Dave Whitney, and food and drinks will be on sale to benefit the Dance Palace.
