Art Altar Unveiling at Ernesto's Studio

Event Description: 

Ernesto Sanchez will unveil his newest altar, "The Sky Sees All," on Sunday, July 19th, 2 to 4 pm at his studio in downtown Pt Reyes Station. This ceremonial altar unveiling will include poetry, spoken word, music, and a mask dance by Ernesto. 
 
"The Sky Sees All" is a visual prayer for the earth and incorporates artistic elements of altars from different cultures, both primitive and present-day.  "The artistic inspiration for this altar was a Rumi line I once read about hurting the sky, " says Sanchez. "Although Rumi was a Sufi mystic, the concept that the sky can feel emotions in response to our actions reminded me of the Christian idea of angels watching us from above and has always stayed with me."
