Event Description:
The Climate Reality Roadshow

Presented by Doug Nunn, Comic, Improv Artist and Educator at the Dance Palace, Saturday, June 15 @ 7pm

Doug Nunn’s Climate Reality Show graphically illustrates why and how our environment is heating up, and what we can do about it. His free, one-hour presentation (contributions welcome ed to cover venue expenses) will be followed by questions from the audience.

Former Vice President and Nobel laureate Al Gore founded the Climate Reality Project to train presenters- 19,000 of them to date, from 152 countries- to educate the public about climate change. Each year, the training is updated to bring together the latest developments both in understanding climate change and in addressing it: “Must we change?”, “Can we change?” and “Will we change?”

Our presenter, Doug Nunn, has been an environmental activist since the early 1970s, and a comic and improv artist since 1980. He has also been a drama and improv coach and teacher. Last summer Doug attended the Los Angeles Climate Reality training, where Al Gore and his team of educators, scientists, and political thinkers passed on their scientific training, knowledge and passion. Doug- who lives in northern Mendocino County- now travels widely, using his skills as a teacher and entertainer to offer his audiences the latest understandings and strategies about climate change. Using slides developed by the Climate Reality Project, Doug turns this complex and daunting problem into an engaging and hopeful show.

Several local climate activist groups will also be present before and after the show, to tell us how they are addressing the climate crisis, and how we can help. Doors will open by 6:30, if you want to come check out their tables and talk with them before the presentation.
