Event Description:
Laurie Sawyer is having a closing reception for her show in the Dance Palace lobby.   "Since I was a child, making pictures was one of my favorite calming yet invigorating pastimes. I have found that years change many things and then there are the things that never change.    I have lived in places with beaches and canyons to explore. Where flora and fauna abound. I've grown gardens and children. My artwork has been deeply influenced by all of it. Monet said "I am following Nature without being able to grasp her, I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers".  I concur.   My most recent work is directed towards Scientific Illustration. I  hope to share my concern for this beautiful place we inhabit, and through the creation of pictures share stories that might inspire understanding and respect for the world around us."   More information about Laurie's work can be found at https://www.newcompassdesigns.com ]]>
