Contemplative Christian Meditation Practice
At 8 A.M. on the first and third Sundays of each month, St. Columba’s Church hosts a one-hour Contemplative Christian Meditation Practice in the chapel.
The format is simple: A brief candle-lighting ritual to honor the Divine in our midst, a brief reading from a sacred text, followed by a 20-minute sit in silence. The remainder of the time is spent in contemplative listening among the participants and some words of spiritual wisdom (traditionally called a rhema) shared by that morning’s guide.
