Earth-Centered Recovery: 12-Step Meeting
Are you familiar with Twelve-Step Recovery and curious to explore how the principles of the program could transform our relationship with the earth?
It is well known that the Twelve Steps pioneered by Alcoholics Anonymous work effectively to help people recover from all kinds of addictions. What would it be like to work the Twelve Steps around our relationship to the earth? Could we use this model to free ourselves from the habits, patterns, and beliefs that are destructive to ourselves and our ecology? How can we be restored to sanity in our relationship with nature? To whom, and to what, do we need to make amends?
Please join me for a weekly step study, writing, and discussion meeting focusing on:
deepening into intimate relationship with our ecology, and facing into the reality of ecological crisis
recovering from our addiction to technology, consumption, and other potentially destructive behaviors
shedding light on unexplored emotional responses to environmental catastrophe—our blind-spots, denial, grief, and other unconscious patterns
finding a sense of integrity, serenity, and freedom that is of true service to ourselves, our fellows, and the earth
We come together to explore these questions together in a Twelve Step meeting format; we will read the literature of AA and other Twelve Step fellowships, as well as spiritual and ecological literature from other traditions, to deepen our understanding both of our disease and the paths to healing.
Meetings: Sundays at 4:00 PM
The Western Gate, Lagunitas Station
7282 Sir Francis Drake Blvd
