Eric Muhler at the Dance Palace

Date:
Saturday, January 20, 2018 - 7:00pm
Location:
Event Description:
Back by popular demand, the Dance Palace is excited and proud for the return engagement of jazz pianist and original composer Eric Muhler!

Eric’s solo act combines both classical music repertoire and his own original compositions with an amazing demonstration of totally improvised music that tends to defy influence and origin.  He taps into deep streams of musicality from all traditions including Western European classical and Americana: from jazz and  blues to rock and funk, romantic melody, chromatic color harmony,  and Latin and African rhythms that combine to transcend, transform, and illuminate.

Combined with Eric’s funny, intimate, and personal style of narrative, the show provides the listener with what Marin IJ critic  Paul Liberatore called ”little journeys, road trips that twist and turn and reward listeners with surprises around every corner.”  Jazz singer Joe Jacovac may have said it best: "Listening to Eric's music intently can actually change neuron paths in the brain. His quiet side is at home in Nirvana; his adventurous side is a quick path to enlightenment.”

Tickets $25 general, $20 youth and teens / children and seniors. Doors open at 6:30pm, show begins at 7:00pm

Location: Main Hall
