June 1 - June 25, 2019

Opening reception: Saturday, June 1, 3-5 pm, during Western Weekend

This year’s Artists in the Schools program annual show, incorporates painting, photography, sculpture, and site-specific installation to examine the ways that both animals and humans create unique spaces that protect and nurture.

The Latino Photography Project presents the work of nine photographers exploring various paths in which they find shelter – through family, home, memories of loved ones, and in the natural world.

Gallery Route One’s Artists in the Schools (AIS) Program is a multi-

disciplinary program for students in West Marin public schools combining art-making and creative writing with the classroom science curriculum. AIS projects have an environmental and local focus, including field trips into the Point Reyes National Seashore.

Gallery Route One’s Latino Photography Project (LPP), now in its 16thyear, offers photography instruction for local adult Latinos. The work has led to ongoing exhibits and community-wide celebrations. Over the years, with art as an ally and a bridge, the project has served to open many doors within the West Marin community and beyond.
