Guided Hikes with David Herlocker: Celebrating Our Opening Day!

Date:
Saturday, May 4, 2019 - 10:00am to 4:00pm
Event Description:

Opening Day Celebration at Martin Griffin Preserve with David Herlocker

Join us on May 4th as we celebrate the first day of our short summer season at Martin Griffin Preserve of Audubon Canyon Ranch!

Renowned local naturalist David Herlocker will be providing guided hikes at 11am and 2pm. David has been leading walks and giving presentations on natural history for over 30 years. He has been giving docent trainings and other walks and talks at Martin Griffin and Bouverie preserves for the last 20 years. He recently retired from his position as the Interpretive Naturalist for Marin County Parks which involved providing several walks a week all over Marin County that focused on all aspects of nature. His hikes are free of cost, with a suggested donation to Audubon Canyon Ranch of $20.

Can’t make the hikes? Come explore with us! Join our volunteer Nature Guides and grab a pair of binoculars or peer in the scopes to watch osprey dive for fish and eagles disrupt the waterbirds over the Bolinas Lagoon. Grab a net and scoop a newt at our freshwater ponds. Come out to our kids’ tables to do activities related to the sights, sounds, and smells of May at Martin Griffin Preserve! No reservation necessary -- please join us!

Martin Griffin Preserve, across from the Bolinas Lagoon in Stinson Beach, is open every Saturday from May through July, from 10am to 4pm -- with different themed activities and hikes every Saturday!
