INDIGO DYES - Workshop

Date:
Saturday, July 20, 2019 - 9:00am to 12:30pm
Event Description:

Experience the fun and creativity of playing with indigo Shibori, one of the world's most revered dyeing traditions.  You will walk away with a deep appreciation for the art form, knowledge of its history and a beautiful set of napkins only you could have created. But, to be fair, our workshops are so much more than the art form and the final product. The magic happens within the process because when you give yourself time to play, you’ll tap into something deep inside you. Throughout the session, you’ll connect with others and get your hands dirty. You’ll experiment with Shibori folds and learn the fundamentals of this historic pattern making process.  All students will receive fabric samples and a set of four dinner napkins. There will be an opportunity to purchase additional materials if you want to make more. Quantities are limited so reserve them in advance.  Feel free to bring your own goods to dye, but please limit to a single item, and please avoid bulky pieces (towels, linens, bedding, etc) as vat space and time are limited.
