Event Description:
Women, Money & Spirit Tickets: $10–$25 sliding scale

Kate Levinson, author of Emotional Currency, will lead a conversation that illuminates the importance of women, money, and spirit in our lives. She’ll be joined by Gwen Heistand who will lead participants in a personal ritual relating to transition and money, exploring questions like: Does your relationship to how and where you earn money impact your decision-making process? Is this different from what your spirit desires? What is the role of money in times of transition? Those who attended the initial gathering in February heard stories of the intersections of money and spirit in many women’s lives. In this half-day session, we will touch in again to the power we experienced and go deeper. New attendees are welcome to join us.

About Emotional Currency: Kate Levinson offers workshops for women based on her book of the same title. Money is not only legal tender, it is also emotional currency. Whether we think we have enough money or too little, whether we “manage” our money or ignore it—underneath our thoughts and behaviors are often powerful feelings. When we become curious about these feelings and no longer push them aside, we can become aware of the emotional power money often has in our lives. With this understanding, we can make better financial decisions—and better life decisions.

About Kate Levinson: A psychotherapist in private practice in San Rafael, Dr. Kate Levinson works with clients with a range of life issues. She specializes in helping individuals and couples deal with money from a psychological perspective. Kate has led Emotional Currency Workshops™ throughout the country.

About Gwen Heistand:  Gwen Heistand is the Resident Biologist at Audubon Canyon Ranch’s 1000-acre Martin Griffin Preserve where she teaches classes in all aspects of natural history along with supervising long-term bio-monitoring, basic and applied conservation research, and resource management and restoration programs. Gwen has a master’s degree in Environmental Science & Management/Applied Ecology. Her Ph.D. work focused on chemosensory ecology of marine organisms. Gwen’s prior work in the corporate world was in the fields of software design, banking, and transportation.
