In this hour-long documentary, Barbara Borden, an acclaimed 70-year-old Mill Valley drummer, composer, and teacher, tells her story in eloquent words and toe-tapping music. Keeper of the Beat showcases the unfolding of Barbara’s identity as she grows from a little girl in love with drumming to a world-class percussionist. A smash hit at the 2013 Mill Valley Film Festival, the documentary was filmed on four continents, and directed by 3-time Emmy Award-winner, David L. Brown. Q & A and a live musical performance with Borden and Point Reyes drummer, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and teacher Joyce Kouffman follow the film. Presented by Point Reyes Books as a fundraiser for post-production costs to enable wider distribution. ]]>
