Capable of swinging between re-inventions of traditional old-time, bluegrass, and compelling original tunes, Reischman is renowned for his impeccable tone and taste. In the late 1970’s, he helped define the New Acoustic movement as an original member of the Tony Rice Unit, recording several influential albums on Rounder Records.

Reischman and his Vancouver-based band have released 5 critically-acclaimed albums, and Billboard says, “John Reischman and The Jaybirds are in their prime.” Dirty Linen magazine says “gorgeous three part harmonies” And SingOut! Magazine says “seamlessly excellent . . . with a rare ability to produce music that is simultaneously traditional and contemporary, the Jaybirds are a band that continues to hit on all cylinders.”
