Let's Talk Discrimination

Date:
Thursday, February 11, 2016 - 11:00am to 12:00pm
Event Description:

KWMR's Let’s Talk Show wants to hear your views on discrimination. Discrimination is prejudice in action. How does it affect our society? Has today’s political correctness helped to lessen discrimination? Is discrimination the manifestation of our innate fear of the unknown other or is it taught to us by mentors and peers?

How has it affected your life? Have you ever felt discriminated against because of your race, sex, religion, nationality, age, gender, weight or skin color? Have your prejudices ever caused you to agree with or even make a discriminatory decision? Is discrimination, especially ‘reverse discrimination’, a valuable tool for institutions, such as in education or social services?

Please listen to Let’s Talk, KWMR’s call-in program, on Thursdays from 11 to noon at 90.5 in Point Reyes Station, 89.9 in Bolinas, 92.3 in San Geronimo Valley, streaming live on kwmr.org and on the Public Radio app, and on Horizon Cable at Channel 47. Call 415-663-8492 or tweet @letstalkonkwmr during the show to tell us your opinions, because your voice matters!
