Let's Talk Grazing on Public Lands

Date:
Thursday, February 4, 2016 - 11:00am to 12:00pm
Event Description:

What are your thoughts about the armed occupation of a wildlife refuge ongoing in Eastern Oregon?  Domestic livestock grazing is one of the traditional uses of public lands and occurs on about 235 million acres, mostly in the Western US. The Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Forest Service manages 98% of it.

Much has been said about what deep discount ranchers are getting to graze their livestock on public lands and how the US taxpayer is essentially subsidizing those who do. But is the truth so cut and dry?

Research shows that properly managed grazing builds healthy soil, sequesters carbon and rebuilds degraded grasslands.  We want to hear your thoughts about the issues of grazing on public land.

Please listen on Thursday January 28 from 11 to noon and call 415-663-8492 or tweet @LetsTalkOnKWMR during the show. We want to hear your opinions on this important issue.
