Let's Talk Guns on KWMR

Date:
Thursday, November 5, 2015 - 11:00am to 12:00pm
Event Description:

What are your views on guns with regard to ownership, safety and controls? If you are a gun owner call us and tell us how you use your gun(s). If you are unarmed and believe there are too many guns in our society, we want to hear from you as well this week on Thursday, Nov. 5th.

Does "a well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed" mean the government can pick and choose who is allowed to carry? How can government assess whether or not an individual can be responsible enough to own guns without endangering us all. Is the problem fundamentally too many dangerous guns or too many dangerous people?

Does the glorification of guns in movies and video games contribute to our high incidence of gun deaths? Have the mass shootings in recent times caused you to rethink how we might better regulate gun ownership and use?

Are concealed carry licenses a good idea or should guns always be visible, as in a holster, when they are out in public? Would more people owning carrying guns make us safer? Is the gun lobby too strong and influential with lawmakers or is the NRA helpful in protecting our individual freedoms?

Listen to KWMR and call us on 415-663-8492, this Thursday, November 5th, between 11 and noon, to share your views.
