Maria Muldaur’s Way Past Midnight

Event Description:
The Way Past Midnight show is “two very full sets of music.” Forty years have gone by since her recording of “Midnight at the Oasis,” a chart-topping song about one very romantic evening.  A look at her catalogue gives you an idea of where she can go: “Cajun Moon” and “Don’t You Feel My Leg” are a pair from her album “Louisiana Love Call;” “I’m a Woman” and “It Ain’t the Meat, It’s the Motion” come from “Waitress in the Donut Shop.” Her 2007 record “Naughty, Bawdy and Blue” brought cuts such as “Up the Country Blues” and “Down Home Blues.” In this show, Muldaur unspools anecdotes and photo projections from her friendships with Bob Dylan, Taj Mahal, John Sebastian and Janis Joplin. Promoters call it a multimedia show, but she thinks of it as a visual scrapbook of her musical journey.

"Muldaur sounds positively energized by this return to her roots and delivers one of the best vocal performances in her long and storied career." –Blues Source
