Event Description:

LARNER SEEDS

230 Grove Rd. between Elm & Alder, Bolinas 94924 (see directions at www.larnerseeds.com rather than Google)

Saturday, May 10, 2014 & Saturday May 17, 2014

12 to 4pm, Tour at 1:30 pm

There are two Saturdays left in our month of Open Houses at the Larner Seeds Demonstration Garden & Garden Shop in Bolinas.  One Spring Open House just didn't seem adequate for conveying all that we wish to convey at Larner Seeds, about the forbs & grasses, the trees, shrubs, & vines, about the native seeds and plants of West Marin & California. We've had two lovely Saturdays with widely ranging conversations and much conviviality over the Yerba Buena tea, Sidalcea Salsa, Chia Seed Cookies, and Roasted Bay Nuts.  From pollinator/plant relationships, to the ecology of native grasses and clovers, to the question of whether there really is DMT in the roasted bay nuts we've been serving, themes both amusing and enlightening have surfaced throughout the afternoons, with much enthusiastic purchasing from our nursery and seedroom.

So, please join us, on Saturday, May 10 or Saturday May 17, from 12 to 4, with the Garden Tour at 1:30.  We have a lot of different unusual wildflowers, from perennial clovers to native thistles to local strains of ruby chalice clarkia and what we call Farewell to Spring 'The Real.'  Lotus formosissimus is in gorgeous bloom, along with its compadre the California oatgrass. And there is one cobweb thistle, Cirsium occidentale, left.Among our native-plant based items you'll find our new Meadowfoam Bath Oil, made from the seed of this gorgeous wildflower and truly miraculous in results.

We recommend using our directions, which can be found at www.larnerseeds.com. rather than Google, which just doesn't get it about Bolinas. We're not hard to find, and we'd love to see you.
