Event Description:
An Afternoon of Irish Poetry, Storytelling, and Song Tickets: $10 at the door

A magical celebration of all things Irish. Words, music, and song woven wonderfully together by local poets, musicians, and singers who—for this one day of the year, at least—have roots in the auld country. Featuring the Brosnan Irish Dance school; Silverstrings, a musical family from Inverness; Bolinas storyteller Neshama Franklin; and singer Debbie Daly. Silent auction, Irish coffee, soda bread, and other food and drinks for sale. Co-sponsored by Point Reyes Books and KWMR-FM as a benefit for the Dance Palace and Sacred Heart parish.

About Mother Ireland: A celebration of all things Irish with a singalong, silent auction, Irish Coffee drinks, and soda bread. Inspired by Edna O'Brien’s 1976 memoir, Mother Ireland, this gathering first took place in West Marin several decades ago. It featured poetry, storytelling, live music, spirited reminiscences of the auld country, and a lot of people dressed in green. Today’s lively incarnation has its own magic, along with memories of the St. Patrick’s Day Barbecue formerly put on by Sacred Heart parish.
