Ocean Noise Pollution events - Free Movie!
After a great victory in court for the whales as a co-plaintiff on NRDC et al V. Pritzker et al, I'll be discussing ocean noise pollution and presenting the NRDC/WWF Movie "Sonic Sea" at the Point Reyes Dance Palace.
This week - get the low-down on Wednesday July 27 at 5pm on the KWMR "Epicenter" program with Lyons Filmer. I'll be playing back some amazing sounds (and noises) as well as discussing the court case and the developments in the field.;
Next week - Wednesday August 3, 7pm-9pm come see the movie "Sonic Sea" produced by NRDC and WWF discussing mostly Navy Sonar and Seismic Airgun Surveys impacts on whales and dolphins. Then stick around for Q & A about the court case, about the global scientific efforts to understand the impacts of noise on marine life - and what is developing both good and not-so-good in the very-acoustic ocean.
The screening will be in the big room and is free of charge!
I'll have my book Hear Where We Are: Sound Ecology and Sense of Place available for sale and signing.
See you there!
