Come join us for another film presented by the Black Mountain Circle Film Series and Point Reyes Books. The filmmaker, Jesse Moss, will be at the screening for a Q&A session after the film.

About The Overnighters: 
Desperate, broken men chase their dreams and run from their demons in the North Dakota oil fields. A local pastor risks everything to help them. “Overnighters” is a feature documentary directed by Jesse Moss.

The film premiered in the US Documentary Competition at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, where it was awarded the Special Jury Prize for Intuitive Filmmaking. Other prizes include the Golden Gate Award for Best Feature Documentary at the San Francisco International Film Festival, the Grand Jury Prize at the Miami International Film Festival, and the Inspiration Award at the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival. The LA Times listed it as one of the ten best documentaries of 2013.

About the Black Mountain Circle Film Series: 
This new film series brings award-winning documentaries rarely seen outside international film festivals to Point Reyes Station. The films—some of the finest in non-fiction storytelling—will explore the threads that connect culture and ecology expressed through both artistic and human lens. Each screening is followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers and special guests allowing for engaging and thought-provoking discussions. Series curated by West Marin filmmaker Emmanuel Vaughan-Lee and Sausalito Film Festival Co-Director Allison Faust.
