Permaculture for Kids! October 2018-September 2019

Date:
Saturday, October 13, 2018 - 9:00am to 5:00pm
Location:
Event Description:

We are delighted to offer, for the first time, a Permaculture for Kids track in the Commonweal Garden! Occurring on the same dates and times as the Four Seasons PDC, parents are invited to either drop their children off for this program, or to enroll in the Four Seasons permaculture training (for adults and children age 12-18). Sharing this learning with one's children is a mutually enriching experience, and allows parents and children to support each other in walking more lightly on the Earth.

This program is designed to introduce children, aged 4-11, to permaculture through engaging and fun activities attuned to the seasonal rhythm of the Garden. Taught by Bonnie McKinney, a certified Permaculture Educator for Children, we'll explore and interact with Nature as we learn about the three Permaculture Ethics: Care for the Earth, Care for People, and Fair Share. We'll take part in activities such as arts, crafts, games, hands on projects, creative play, observation and nature exploration in support of learning the Permaculture Principles.

October 13, November 10, December 8, January 26, February 23, March 23, April 27, May 25, June 15, July 27, August 24, September 28.
