Plein Air Poetry & Printmaking with Sharon Coleman & Barry Ebner

Event Description: 

Join Barry Ebner & Sharon Coleman for a weekend of hiking, printing, and poetry in beautiful Point Reyes National Seashore. In this 2 day workshop, participants will start the day with a leisurely hike in Point Reyes to gather inspiration. In the field we'll to write, sketch, and discuss ideas about Plein Air art, poetry, and nature. Later, we'll return to the art studio and transform the your sketches and poetic lines into etchings and Chine Colle broadsides. Participants may chose to do both the writing and image making or choose to collaborate with another workshop participant. Please bring a bag lunch, snacks, and water for each day's activities.

Visiting Poet: Sharon Coleman's poetry and short fiction appear in a number of journals like Berkeley Poetry Review, Ambush Review, Clade Song, Rivet. She's also the author of the chapbook Half Circle. She's taught poetry and creative writing at Berkeley City College for over 10 years. She also co-directs the Berkeley Poetry Festival and writes for Poetry Flash. She has an MA and MFA in Poetics.

Visiting Artist: Barry Ebner is a printmaker with over 25 solo shows to his credit. He has a MFA in Printmaking from CCA and he teaches intaglio at the Academy of Art University.

INK.PAPER.PLATE is printmaking studio and arts workshop specializing in letterpress, woodcut, linocut, relief block, etching, monotype, screenprinting and bookarts. The retail workshop showcases artist-made goods, sells art supplies,  offers personalized art instruction for all levels of artists and hosts community social gatherings.
