Earth-a-lujah! Reverend Billy is back! His new book, The Earth Wants YOU!, is a call for action as extreme as the weather. It's meant to radicalize those who didn't think the climate crisis would require any risky personal commitment. In a mix of essays, polemics, surrealist scenarios and news flashes from the frontlines, Reverend Billy answers the question, "What are we to do?" with a resounding chorus of "Take Action NOW! The event will incorporate readings/sermons from the book and recorded music. Sponsored by Point Reyes Books and Black Mountain Circle.
About Reverend Billy: Reverend Billy performs alone and with The Stop Shopping Choir, a radical performance community based in New York City, with 50 performing members and a congregation in the thousands. They are wild anti-consumerist gospel shouters and Earth-loving urban activists who have worked with communities all over the world defending community, life and imagination Watch the video.
About Black Mountain Circle: Black Mountain Circle (BMC) is a nonprofit in Point Reyes Station, CA, that explores the relationship between spirit, story, and place. BMC programs include author events, retreats, book groups, and writing workshops for youths and adults as well as the biennial Geography of Hope Conference and the literary journal, West Marin Review.
