THIS SACRED LAND: IMAGES & WORDS FROM POINT REYES

Date:
Saturday, September 7, 2019 - 2:00pm to 4:00pm
Location:
Event Description:

Black Mountain Circle presents the photographic exhibition, “This Sacred Land,” at Toby’s Gallery in Point Reyes Station from September 5–30. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, September 7, from 2 to 4 pm. Refreshments will be served.

The exhibit showcases masterful black-and-white nature photos by Todd Pickering. A West Marin resident, Todd has been walking the curves and edges of the Point Reyes landscape for most of his life, coming to know the seasons and to sense the nuances of the land. Interwoven with his visual celebration are the words of other West Marin residents: a farmer; a doctor; a surfer; a rancher; a singer; students; and diverse others. They tell how they, too, have come to know the sacred in the land at Point Reyes, the place they call home. At the exhibit, visitors will be invited to add their own reflections in answer to the question: Where and how do you experience the sacred in the land at Point Reyes?
