Songwriting/Art of the Jam, Sunday April 21st

Two Workshops/ One Day! Attend both or just one.

Sign up for all three dates for discount. (April 21, May 12, June 8)

Songwriting Inspiration & Techniques:10:00-12:30 pm

At each session we will share your original songs with time for feedback and problem solving. Lyric writing ideas, exercises and tips are offered along with music concepts such as diatonic harmonies, parallel harmonies, common tone progressions, chord substitutions,creating bass lines & rhythmic groovesSong assignments: each session you will be asked to write a new song using some of the new ideas/techniques that were taught.

Everyone welcome! No experience necessary.

12:30-1:30 pm Lunch break. Please bring your lunch.

Art of the Jam: LEAD IMPROV STUDY 1:30 - 4:00

We'll spend 1.5 hours exploring lead lines, riffs, fills, ear training, and easy scales that allow us to have lots of fun and freedom to create. Beginners will be givern easier exercises while experienced improvisors will be shown the next steps to expanding their skills.

The last hour of class is reserved for having a great time playing together and getting to work on our newly acquired skills in a safe, easygoing, humorous group.
