Event Description:

“When we identify where our privilege intersects with somebody else's oppression, we'll find our opportunities to make real change.”
Ijeoma Oluo, So You Want To Talk About Race

The Talking Race Book Club meets on certain Thursdays from 7 to 9pm in the Dance Palace Church Space, 503 B Street, Point Reyes Station.

This facilitated community conversation provides an emotionally safe space for guided discussions focused on literature and personal experiences on the subject of race relations.

Founded in 2017, this moderated series of book readings and group discussions with local writer and activist Marc Matheson, a full-time resident of West Marin, focuses on works regarding race relations with a goal of helping make the complex topic more approachable for participants. In the autumn of 2018, Camille Ptak joined him in his efforts by helping organize the logistical aspects of the project.

Everyone is warmly welcome!
This community conversation is free, and donations are welcome.
