Dance Palace Artist for November 2020

Carol Whitman moved to West Marin from London in 1971. She held many jobs, from school bus driver to health food store checker, but always wanted to be an artist.

Three years ago she converted the entryway in her house to a propagating room, growing flowers from seed. This led to bouquets that played with design, shape and color.

On June 2, 2020 she came home from a walk carrying some iris seed pods and three small puffball mushrooms.  She arranged them on a table in the garden. Every day since then she’s made a mandala on this table.  After a week of doing this, it was clear that she’d found her genre, at the age of 69.

This event will feature a conversation with Carol discussing her art, followed by a Q&A session.

The online gallery will be available for viewing on the Dance Palace website for the month of November.

The reception is free; donations are encouraged. To donate, please visit www.dancepalace.org/donate-now and mention this event by name in the comments section.
