Virtual Artist Reception: Laurel Ann Riley "Home Inside"

Date:
Sunday, October 11, 2020 - 6:00pm to 7:00pm
Event Description:

A Virtual Dance Palace Event

The Dance Palace Art Committee is excited to announce the return of our Art Gallery--virtually!

Our first artist is Laurel Ann "LA" Riley, a locally-grown emerging artist and educator, currently living in Uruguay. You can see LA's new body of work "Home Inside" on the Dance Palace website, and you can join LA and Carlos Porrata on Sunday, October 11th for an online reception. This event will feature a conversation with the artist discussing several pieces, followed by a Q&A session.

LA uses watercolor mixed-media to tell visual stories about the magic and emotional landscape of everyday life. Through vivid brush-strokes and playful colors, the work combines natural and architectural elements, self-portraits and poetry, exploring dreams, inverted worlds, and the experience of being alive in a body. This collection has been created over the past 9 months of the artist's time living in Uruguay.

The online gallery will be available for viewing on the Dance Palace's Online Art Gallery for the month of October.

The reception is free, but you must register in advance (no later than 5pm on Sunday, October 11th):
