Wendy Johnson

Date:
Saturday, July 16, 2016 - 10:00am
Event Description:
Mindfulness Practice in the Heart of the World
Daylong Retreat

Tickets: $50 (portion of the fee will be donated to a local nonprofit)

Wendy Johnson leads a day of restorative mindfulness for the Earth, and for ourselves. We'll settle in to the body, simply breathing, and listen closely for what Thich Nhat Hanh calls "the cry of the Earth." Combining dharma talks with sitting and walking meditation as well as a potluck communal lunch, this day promises to be deeply nurturing and engaging. For beginners and seasoned practitioners. Co-sponsored by Point Reyes Books, Black Mountain Circle, and Elephant Mountain Sangha.

About Wendy Johnson: Wendy Johnson is a lay ordained dharma teacher in the Zen tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh and the San Francisco Zen Center with more than 40 years of meditation experience. She is the author of Gardening at the Dragon’s Gate.

About Black Mountain Circle: Black Mountain Circle (BMC) is a nonprofit in Point Reyes Station, CA, that explores the relationship between spirit, story, and place. BMC programs include author events, retreats, book groups, and writing workshops for youths and adults as well as the biennial Geography of Hope Conference and the literary journal, West Marin Review.
