West Marin Transportation Action Group - meeting

Date:
Monday, December 3, 2012 - 5:00pm to 6:30pm
Event Description:

What:
West Marin Transportation Action Group
A collaborative creating transportation solutions in West Marin: Tomales Bay Watershed, Dillon Beach/Tomales and environs, Bolinas/Stinson/Muir Beach, and Shoreline, Bolinas/Stinson and Lagunitas School Districts, and routes connecting these areas to each other and the greater SF Bay area. (This group is not a non-profit and is not currently sponsored by any non-profit.)

This is an open meeting and will be posted on a public forum.

Meeting Time/Date:
5pm on Monday, December 3, 2012

Location:
Turk Kauffman Architecture is located at 80 Fourth Street Suite 208 (upstairs from Cowgirl Creamery). Seating space is limited, but  accommodates about 8-10 people around two tables pushed together.
Folks could bring additional chairs and then there is always standing room. Please RSVP so we can assure there is enough seating!

Proposed Agenda:
1) What is unique about West Marin/ rural transit and how this could translate into a custom, multi-faceted coastal public transportation system.
2) Look at previous survey results and analyze them to better understand local transportation needs (I am hoping Mary Archer can help by supplying Stage survey results).
3) Discuss successful and failed attempts at creating new service (what worked, what did not; who is being served, who is not, etc.).
4) Discuss creating a new hybrid system that people will choose to take over driving their own car. How can we do this? What would it look like?

This meeting will be attended by a Transit Planner from Marin Transit and other local transportation activists representing transportation issues from Dillon Beach, Stinson Beach, Bolinas, Point Reyes Station, Inverness, and other local hamlets and of course the connections between.
