Volunteers needed this and next week for letter writing/mailing at PRNSA

Point Reyes National Seashore Association (PRNSA) is a wonderful organization that works to preserve biodiversity in our backyards by working with the National Park Service on critical conservation and restoration projects and by offering year-round residential, backpacking and Science at the Seashore programs to local and underserved youth from all over Northern CA. This is an important year for PRNSA, not only are we expanding our programming by bringing free and low-cost programs to the park and offering new events in Spanish to families who may have never explored the park, but we are also celebrating the 10th year of our largest fundraising dinner 'Dinner on the Pacific Plate' that helps keep these programs afloat! We have a large mailing that we need to get out early next week and we are looking for volunteers to help us with this important job. Do you have nice handwriting? Might you be willing to come to Bear Valley for a few hours this Friday (4/19), or Monday through Wednesday (4/22-24) next week to help us write letters/address envelopes? Take a walk afterwards in the diverse habitats that surround our offices and enjoy the sights and sounds of an intact Oak Woodlands ecosystem or visit the Morgan Horses. We'd love to have you join us! Please respond back to me directly here or at heatherc@ptreyes.org if you can help.

If the letter writing isn't your thing, and you still have interest in volunteering your time to support your local Park, we are also looking for support with the following:

- Retail Ambassadors: Our Bear Valley and Drakes Beach Bookstore Staff are currently looking for weekday and weekend volunteers to engage with visitors, share your love of the park and favorite trails, and help with purchases and support staff during peak hours. Please contact me, Heather Clapp at heatherc@ptreyes.org, if you are interested in helping out during weekday or weekend shifts.

- Trailhead Tabling: Might you be interested in joining our growing volunteer team on busy weekends in the park to engage with park visitors and encourage them to become PRNSA members to support our park? How do they use the park? What do they love about the park? Please let me know if trailhead tabling events sound interesting and you are willing to help. It's a fun way to meet others who also love the outdoors and enjoy spending time in nature. heatherc@ptreyes.org.

Thank you for your consideration! We'd love to have our local West Marin friends and neighbors join our growing volunteer team here in our backyard National Park. :-)

Warmly, Heather Clapp
