6th Annual Veterans Day Service - Olema Cemetery

Event Description: 

The 6th Annual Veterans Day Service will be held at the Olema Cemetery, on Tuesday November 11, 2014 at 9:00am, rain or shine.  The Coast Guard from CAMSPAC Point Reyes will preside over the service, along with their Honor Guard unit, under the direction of Commander Derby Flory.  Flags will be placed on veterans’ graves starting at 8:00am (all are welcome), and the presentation of colors will commence the ceremony at 9:00am.  As the ceremony will be held on a school holiday, local schoolchildren are especially encouraged to attend.  Our local churches will be represented by Reverend Dr.

Community Apple Pressing

West Marin Commons hosts a Community Apple Pressing at the Town Commons

Friday, September 26 from 3:30 - 6pm

Please bring apples (pears too, if you wish), CLEAN containers, an interest in helping out.

We'll have one press, limited water to clean apples, all the apples we can collect that day, lots of apple stories, and some apple identification.

Money DONATIONS to West Marin Commons encouraged.

Drought Preparedness Workshop on Gray Water and Rainwater Harvesting

Join CLAM (Community Land Trust Association of West Marin) and Patrick Picard of Equinox Landscape for a workshop on gray water and rainwater harvesting on Saturday, October 25th at 3:00 pm. Learn how to calculate how much water can be harvested from your roof, how to set up a laundry to landscape system, and experience a hands-on demonstration set-up of a rainwater system. Meet at the Dance Palalce for presentation followed by set up of a rainwater system at the Yellow House/Town Commons. $25 or $20 for CLAM members.

Ink + Drink: Printmakers' Social Hour

Event Description: 

Calling All West Marin Printmakers! Get out of the house/studio and come on down to ink.paper.plate. We’ll supply the ink and monotype plates (max paper size 19″ x 26″) for making trace monotypes. You supply your own paper and something to share. The studio will be open for a 3 hour open print and local gab session. Get some hands on instruction, try something new, or simply catch up with fellow printmakers.
