Beekeeping at the Inverness Library

This Saturday, February 15th, the Inverness Library is hosting a free program about beekeeping.  We will feature Debra and Bill Tomaszwski, who are the owners of the Marin Bee Company and creators of Planet Bee Foundation.  They are dedicated to making beekeeping accessible to all.  They will educate and inspire us to set up our own successful hives.  Bill is the official beekeeper for Google.  The event will start a 11:00 at the Inverness Library.  We hope you will be able to attend.

Beloved community member, Roneil Powell passed away on Sunday morning. Our hearts go out to the Porrata/Powell family. We would like to band together to show our support in this time of mourning. Stellina (Downtown Point Reyes Station) will hold our weekly local's night, tomorrow, February 4th, in honor of Ron. Please join us. During the Path of Lights on Friday, Dec 6th, Ernesto Sanchez and June Juna will present the "Temple of Angels," featuring a special performance by the band Kai Xin, and poet Fabiola Sandoval at Ernesto's Studio in downtown Pt. Reyes Station. This enchanted evening will include poetry, music, magical masks and puppets by Ernesto Sanchez and a few surprises to enchant those attending.

Join staff from Marin County Parks to improve trail tread and prevent standing water on the trail during the winter months. There will also be opportunities to focus on habitat restoration and trail corridor maintenance pruning. Work will take place on flat and level terrain, but will be mildly strenuous and best suited for volunteers 10 years and up.

Marin MPA Watch

Marin MPA Watch is a new Citizen-Science Program that is part of a statewide initiative to educate the public about Marin County’s Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) and to monitor human uses of coastal natural resources by training and supporting volunteers in the collection of relevant, scientifically rigorous data.  Volunteers are needed to walk transects on Limantour Beach, Drakes Beach, and Duxbury Reef and collect pertinent data based on statewide protocols.  Marin MPA Watch Informational Meetings
